From the Head’s Desk
I was delighted to see that the contractors had completed the play equipment in three of our playgrounds during the half term break. The staff and the School Council have put a great deal of thought into what should be created, in order to make break time more fun. You will recall in the past we have striven to provide a whole host of activities ranging from employing specialist play leaders, giving pupils responsibility for organising play, as well as providing equipment for a nominal fee – all of which, we believe, contributed towards better behaviour and the fostering of good relationships amongst the children during their recreational time.
For the coming week, I am asking our pupils not to use the equipment during the day and I am also requesting that you support me when collecting them before and after school. This will enable my staff to carry out discussions during PE lessons, in the appropriate and safe way in which everything can be used.
On a less pleasing note, it has been reported to me on several occasions that adults escorting pupils are spitting in the playground. As a parent who has recently nursed a son through Swine Flu, I am sure that I do not have to overstate the risks to the health of everyone involved!
School Dinners
Please remember that these must be paid for each Monday and that if your child stops having dinners the office does need to be informed.
